Lodsted Help

For pickers

You get a printed pick list and a cart with numbered bins. This page explains how to read the list, what to do first, and what to do when a shelf does not match the paper.

Before you start

  1. Check the wave header: type, wave number, Size (the number of bins) and Orders. Each wave type is set up for a particular cart; take the cart that type uses.
  2. If the wave came with an auto-move sheet, do that first: it lists stock to carry from bulk into pick bins. The pick list assumes it has been done.
  3. Pick lists are sorted by location, so start at the first row and walk.

Reading a row

Location Qty Destination Bins SKU 01A01 8 6 > 12 :: 2 > 40 GB-PRO-DZ
  • Location: the bin on the shelf. The first two characters are the zone; the rest is the aisle, rack, shelf and bin as your warehouse labels them.
  • Qty: how many to take from that location in total.
  • Destination Bins: how to split them on the cart. 6 > 12 means six into cart bin 12; 2 > 40 two into cart bin 40.
  • SKU: what the item is. Check it against the shelf label.

A SKU can appear on several rows if it is picked from more than one location. The total at the bottom is the number of units on the whole wave.

The shelf is short

Do not substitute from another bin on your own; the system has reserved specific stock in specific bins. Instead:

  1. Pick what is there and put it in the bins in order (first bin listed gets filled first).
  2. Mark the row on the paper with what was missing and which cart bin is short.
  3. Tell the lead. They will either move stock from bulk (and the shipment will catch up), remove the affected order from the wave, or correct the count. When the shipment is processed Lodsted records the shortfall and emails the inventory inbox, so an uncounted gap is noticed either way.

The shelf has more than the system thinks

Pick what the list says and report the extra. An Admin adjusts the count with a reason; the next waves will use it.

Wrong item in the location

Pick the correct SKU from wherever it actually is only if the lead says so; otherwise treat the row as short. Report the location so it can be fixed on the Locations page.

Large items

Lodsted does not change the wave size for bulky items; the wave type decides the cart. If a box does not fit its bin, keep it beside the cart with its bin number on it, and tell the lead if a wave type regularly overflows its cart so its cart size can be lowered.

Finishing

Hand the cart and the packing slips (they are printed after the pick list, in bin order) to packing. Nothing needs to be clicked at the end of a pick; the wave completes on its own as orders ship. If you need another copy of the list, anyone can click Print on the wave again; reprinting changes nothing.

Replenishment moves

A sheet titled Auto-Move: RM… is a planned refill from bulk to pick bins, generated whenever bins are running low. It lists From location, SKU, To location and quantity, plus the bin's Min and Max so you can see why. Move the stock, then whoever runs the Waves page clicks Complete on it. If something on the sheet cannot be moved, say so; the move can be undone in the system rather than left wrong.
