Coming soon to the Shopify App Store

Lodsted /ˈlōd-stɛd/

Warehouse management for every Shopify store.
From $29 a month.

Ship every order from one screen instead of opening them one at a time. Pick a whole batch in one walk, print every packing slip in a few clicks, and know what to reorder before it runs out. The same system ships 500+ orders a day for a sporting goods brand, at about 2½¢ an order.

Under $1a day for up to 500 orders a month
1 walkpicks a whole batch of orders, up to 250
Every featurein every plan, with a 14-day free trial
Who it is for

Built like enterprise software. Priced for the shop down the street.

You do not have to run a warehouse to use one. Lodsted gets a busy day of 50 or 100 orders organized, and keeps working the same way at thousands.

I pack the orders myself

Get the busy days under control.

A Monday of 60 orders should not mean 60 trips through Shopify order pages.

  • Every order to ship on one screen
  • The whole batch picked in one walk, sorted by shelf
  • All packing slips and labels printed in a few clicks
  • See what is selling and what to reorder
How an order flows →
I have a small team

Everyone works from the same list.

Hand a picker a cart and a list; hand a packer a scanner. Nobody asks where anything is.

  • Waves by your rules: rush first, bulky items on their own
  • A pack bench that runs on barcodes and a scale
  • Purchase orders and receiving into bins
  • Staff use their Shopify logins
Waves and picking →
I run a warehouse

A system of record for the floor.

Every unit in a bin, every unit at its cost, every change in the ledger.

  • True FIFO: oldest stock picked first, cost of goods by lot
  • Replenishment from real demand, carton-rounded
  • Stock reserved per bin, never promised twice
  • Audit trail, alert inboxes, direct data access
Inventory and FIFO →

Already running a real floor. A sporting goods brand ships more than 500 orders a day on Lodsted. The shop packing its own orders gets the same software, every feature included.

Pricing

Pays for itself the first busy day.

Pick a plan by orders shipped a month. Every plan has every feature. A shop with 50-order Mondays and 5-order Thursdays usually ships under 500 a month.

How it works

From checkout to the truck, with nothing typed twice.

Every step hands the next one exactly what it needs. Staff work from paper and barcodes; the system keeps the books.

1Order landsShopify tells Lodsted within seconds. Kits expand, priority and tags come along.
2Stock checkShort orders are flagged backordered, oldest orders first.
3WaveA definition picks the orders; stock is reserved bin by bin.
4PrintPick list by location, packing slips by cart bin. Shopify gets the wave tag.
5PickOne walk fills the cart. Auto-moves bring stock forward first.
6PackScan the slip, weigh, pick a box, buy the label, print.
7ProcessStock comes off at cost, oldest lot first. The order is Shipped.
8FulfillShopify gets the fulfillment and tracking; the customer gets the email.
9Close outOne USPS SCAN form per ship type. The driver scans once.
What is in the box

A whole warehouse system, not a shipping add-on.

Label apps start at the label. Lodsted starts at the order and runs the floor.

Waves and picking

Batch orders by your own rules, reserve stock, print one pick list sorted by location and packing slips in bin order.

Pack station and labels

Scan, weigh on a USB scale, pick a box barcode, buy USPS or UPS postage through Stamps.com or Shopify Shipping, print ZPL or PDF.

Inventory by location

On hand, allocated and available per bin, dated cost lots, moves and adjustments with a reason, and a full audit trail.

Replenishment

A live report of pick bins running low, days of supply from real demand, carton-rounded moves from bulk in one click.

Purchasing and receiving

Vendors, purchase orders pasted from a spreadsheet, receiving to bins at landed cost with freight spread across the lines.

Shipments and fulfillment

Every package that leaves is tracked to the store. Failed pushes retry, time-outs are verified, nothing is silently lost.

Waves

Waves you define. Carts you own.

A wave definition is a named rule for which orders go together, in what priority, into what cart. Build it with a form, or write SQL if you want to. Test it before you save it.

Rules in plain language

Pick on shipping method, tags, priority, SKU, line count, total pieces, order age, ship-to state or country, order total. Match all or any. Values are suggested from your own orders.

  • Definitions run in priority order: an order goes to the first one that wants it.
  • Each definition sets its own cart size, up to 250 bins, and never changes it on its own.
  • Bulky items get their own definition and a smaller cart. Singles get a big one.
  • Advanced SQL for anything the form cannot say, validated and time-limited.

Allocation that cannot double-promise

Creating a wave reserves stock in specific bins: the SKU's primary pick location first, then other pick faces, then bulk. Two waves can never claim the same unit. If a pick bin is short and bulk is not, the wave arrives with an auto-move list so the stock is on the shelf before anyone walks.

  • All-or-nothing by default: an order is waved only when every line is in stock.
  • Tag an order split and it ships what it can now, the rest later, each part with its own slip.
  • Preview before you create: uncheck an order, cap the number of waves, see which are short.
What the picker gets
Pick list
Sorted by location, one row per SKU, "6 › bin 12 :: 2 › bin 40".
Packing slips
In cart-bin order, pick location next to each line, return form on the last page with your logo.
Barcodes
Wave id on the list; shipment id on every slip.
Auto-move
From bin, to bin, quantity, whole cartons when they fit.
In Shopify
The order is tagged printed and W317/12, so the store can find the cart.
Pack and ship

A bench that runs on barcodes.

The packer never touches the mouse. Scan the slip, the box, the buy button. The scale fills in the weight. The label prints.

1 scanloads the address, lines, hazmat flag and anything already shipped on that order
Live weightfrom a USB scale, straight into the label request
Box barcodesone per preset, printed on the bench sheet; dimensions never typed
1 formper ship type at close-out: the USPS driver scans once for the whole batch

Postage, your way

USPS and UPS through your Stamps.com account, or Shopify Shipping for Shopify orders. Business addresses default to Ground. Light, flat orders are promoted to First Class envelopes automatically.

Stops before mistakes

Address verified with the carrier. A second box on the same order, a slip older than eight hours, or an order the store changed after picking all need a confirm scan before postage is bought.

Printers that just print

Zebra thermal through Browser Print, or any printer through PDF. Labels are rescaled to the printer's real DPI. Reprint or refund from the Recent tab.

Inventory

Every unit, every bin, every dollar, every change.

Stock is counted where it sits, at the cost it came in, in the order it came in. Nothing moves without a line in the ledger that says who, when and why.

Available means available

On hand minus what waves have reserved, counting only usable locations. That is what waves can take, what the Replenishment page refills, and what Shopify is shown, less open demand, so the storefront never sells a unit a wave already owns.

  • Dated cost lots per receipt: shipping consumes the oldest first, so cost of goods is FIFO without a spreadsheet.
  • Inactive locations park stock you cannot sell yet: receiving, quarantine, a damaged shelf.
  • Allocations are rebuilt and reconciled after every wave; drift is emailed, not hidden.

Replenishment that reads your demand

One report lists every pick bin below its max, how many days of supply are left at the real sales rate, how much sits in bulk, and a carton-rounded move. Check the rows, generate, print, carry. It also tells you which bins are too small for how the SKU sells.

  • Demand window of 30, 60 or 90 days; coverage days you choose.
  • Suggested quantity respects group packs and master cartons and never overfills the bin.
  • Undone with one click if the move did not happen.

Built to not lose a package

The box already left. The software has to keep up.

Lodsted is designed around what actually happens on a floor: labels get bought before the store is told, carriers time out, orders change mid-pick, bins come up short.

Two-phase shipping

Stock is deducted and the order marked shipped the moment a shipment is processed. Telling the store happens afterwards and is retried on failure, verified after a time-out, and never allowed to put stock back that is already on a truck.

Frozen once picked

An order that is on a wave is never rewritten by a store edit. It is tagged, the change is logged, the Shipping inbox gets an email naming the wave and bin, and the packer sees a confirm before buying postage.

Alerts to a person

Three alert inboxes you control: Admin, Shipping, Inventory. Allocation drift, failed pushes, unmapped carriers, shortfalls at ship time. Each email is a list of exactly what to look at.

Everything logged

Every stock change is a transaction with user, reason, cost and time. Every order change is an activity line. Customer service answers "what happened" from the record, not from memory.

Compare

Where Lodsted is a different kind of tool.

Most Shopify fulfillment apps are label printers with an order list. A spreadsheet knows where stock is until the second person edits it. Lodsted is the system of record for the floor.

Comparison describes product categories, not any specific app.

Shopify native

Nothing to integrate. It is already in the admin.

Staff logins

Open Lodsted from Apps. Shopify staff are the team; set Admin or User levels in Lodsted.

Orders in seconds

Webhooks first, scheduled sync as the safety net. Holds, cancellations and refunds follow the store.

Tags both ways

Your Shopify tags drive waves and searches. Lodsted tags back the wave, bin, printed and backordered.

Tracking back

Fulfillment with tracking on every shipment, multi-package included. Authorized payments captured on ship.

Counts to the storefront

Available stock less open demand is pushed to Shopify. Choose which products Shopify tracks.

Kits

Sell a bundle SKU; pick and count the components.

Shopify Shipping

Buy the store's own labels from the Pack page, customs forms included.

Your time zone

PO dates, ship dates and "today" follow the warehouse, not the server.

Setup

Live in an afternoon.

A checklist in the app walks through it. Products come from Shopify. Locations and stock come from two spreadsheet files. Starter wave definitions are already there.

1. Company

Time zone, addresses, packing-slip logo.

2. Locations

Import location, sku, min, max, active. Primaries set themselves.

3. Stock

Import sku, location, quantity, cost, received. Age and cost preserved.

4. Bench

Carrier account, printer, box presets, scale. Print the barcode sheet.

One system, five jobs, each with its own page.

Customer service

Find any order by number, name, tag or SKU. Read its timeline. Hold it, release it, see tracking.

Pickers

A list sorted by location and a cart with numbered bins. Short bins are reported, not improvised.

Packers and shippers

Scan, weigh, box, buy. Refund a label. Close the day with a SCAN form.

Receiving and purchasing

POs from a paste, receiving to bins at landed cost, put-away, keeping pick faces full.

Managers and admins

Wave definitions, team levels, alert inboxes, the daily checks, recovery from mistakes.

Questions

Short answers.

Do I need special hardware?

A laser printer for pick lists and slips, a label printer (Zebra thermal or any PDF printer), a USB scanner, and optionally a USB scale. Nothing else.

Which carriers?

USPS and UPS through a Stamps.com account, and whatever Shopify Shipping offers your store. Shipments labeled elsewhere can be imported.

Can I keep my location codes?

Yes. Codes are letters and digits; zone 01 means picking and everything else is storage. Import them from a spreadsheet.

What if a wave was a mistake?

Reset it. Orders return to the queue, stock is released, the printed tag comes off in Shopify.

How many warehouses or stores?

One Shopify store, one warehouse, one fulfillment location per install today.

How much does it cost?

$29 a month for up to 500 orders, $87 for 2,000, $163 for 5,000 and $367 for 15,000, with every feature in every plan and a 14-day free trial. See Pricing. The plan is chosen inside the app and billed through Shopify.

What if I ship more than my plan?

Extra orders are billed at your plan's own per-order rate (5.8¢ on the $29 plan), so a busy month costs a little more and nothing changes. Once a bigger plan would have cost less, we email you with the saving. Each plan has a usage cap you approve in Shopify ($300, $600, $1,000 and $1,500). On the three smaller plans, one business day after the cap is reached new waves pause until you change plan or the next cycle starts; waves already started still pick, pack and ship. See Billing.

Is it too much for a small shop?

No. You do not have to use waves, bins or purchase orders on day one. Most small shops start with one screen for shipping, one walk to pick the day's orders, and packing slips printed in a batch, then add the rest as they grow.
