Lodsted Help

Lodsted Help

Lodsted is warehouse management built into Shopify. It turns the orders in your store into pick lists, packing slips and shipping labels, keeps inventory by location, and tells Shopify when each order ships. This guide covers every screen and every setting.

Where to open Lodsted

In your Shopify admin go to Apps › Lodsted. There is no separate password; your Shopify staff login is your Lodsted login. Each Lodsted screen appears in Shopify's left-hand app menu, and the title bar above every page holds Sync, the theme switch and the Pack station button, which opens the pack station in its own browser tab because the USB scale and label printer cannot be reached from inside the Shopify frame.

Five ideas that explain most of Lodsted

  1. Orders come from Shopify; shipments go back. Lodsted pulls new orders automatically. When a package leaves, Lodsted marks the order fulfilled in Shopify with its tracking number. You never fulfill by hand in Shopify.
  2. A wave is a batch of orders picked in one walk. Each order gets a numbered bin on the cart. The pick list is sorted by location; the packing slips are sorted by bin.
  3. Stock lives in locations. Zone 01 locations are where pickers pick; every other location is storage. Every SKU should have one primary pick location. An inactive location holds stock that is not usable yet.
  4. Available = on hand minus allocated. Creating a wave allocates stock; shipping deducts it. Shopify is shown the available count, less any open demand.
  5. Everything is logged. Every stock change writes a transaction with who, when and why. Every order change writes an activity line.
